ABOUT
The Full Story
What is it that fuels you? For me, it’s speech/language pathology, all day, every day. I recently retired from my job as a public school speech therapist. Along my SLP journey, I've worked with mentally challenged adults, children with physical, cognitive, and behavior challenges, people in long-term care, and my longest running gig, all kinds of kids int he public schools. Because it's speech all day, every day, I've always had a variety of part-time jobs. Most recently, I've worked at a private practice, my happy place, staffed with some awesome people, with the kindest owner and boss I've every had. But at my interview, I said the words, "I'll work with adults." Fast forward to my first voice client, in more years than I care to recall, and I had to do some deep diving into the world of voice. Then after several voice clients, I realized two things: 1. I get all of them! 2. I'm actually pretty good at this! So if you find yourself reluctant about voice therapy, come along with me. We'll learn together!
